Kitchen Trends 2023

We have been excited and eager to put together our 2023 Kitchen Trends. First, it's easy to get caught up reading into every trend forecasted, however we have taken the best and avoided the ones which will be over before you know it. It is important to us that your kitchen will stand the test of time. Grab your cup of tea and shortbread for this one and let's get into it!

 Phasing out White Kitchens

This has been on the rise for some time now. 2023 sees those wanting a white kitchen, leaning more to natural shades of taupes and warmer tones to create that homely feel. We are seeing a lot of walnut cabinetry mixed with these tones and we think it's delicious.

Glass front cabinets

Glass doors have always been a classic, however opaque glass and fluted glass are bringing that extra diversity we love. The look of semi seeing what is behind those doors creates dynamic, playful shadows, and style, we love it!

Mixing Metals

There is less focus on your tapware, appliances and handles being 'matchy'. Mixing and blending metal finishes will become the norm. However, there is a fine balance with this one with much thought and planning required to get the look right.

Singular Splashbacks

Choosing splashbacks that are a singular piece of material, such as stone or mirror. Whilst a stone splashback and matching benchtop creates a clean and minimal look, mirror opens the space inviting more light reflecting off the surface which is particularly great for those smaller spaces.

Curved Islands

We are seeing more ergonomic and natural shapes take place in the kitchen. Curved islands are a stylish way to add character without going overboard to your whole kitchen. The use of decorative battens available in different profiles, adds a whole new dimension and we are here for it!

Vertical Patterns

Patterns, grooves, lines…and again the use of timber grain vertical battens and panels proving their strong use of variety in design. Vertical patterns combined with flat surfaces are a match made to create a diverse range of styles such as modern mid-century, contemporary, designer, classic…there are no limits here.

Floating shelf to either side of rangehood

If space allows and you have plenty of storage elsewhere, adding a floating shelf to either side of your rangehood in lieu of cabinets is trending and there are good reasons why. Without breaking the budget, a floating shelf gives a minimal look with plenty of style. It’s aesthetic and practical use is versatile for hanging plants, storing books, artworks, glassware or however you choose to style. You can have a lot of fun with this one and change it up.

Butler’s Pantry

Just as we suspected…for all those coffee lovers out there, this one is about the hidden coffee bar! Butler pantries are on the rise and a must for many, with the use of additional storage, additional appliances and a second fully functional working space. 2023 is all about giving this space the same attention to design and detail as the kitchen, as it claims it's very practical use.
